Have a 2001 600 f4i and the low oil pressure light came on after sitting at an idle for about 5-10 min, then I put it in gear and it dies like a safety shut off anyone have any input on this?

 

Check your oil level first, pressure could drop while idling that long, and maybe the side stand switch Green and Green/White wires ,clean the contacts

 

Did it start back up? The charging system doesn't charge at idle. Idling for that long can run the battery down far enough that the voltage drop can do all sorts of weird things.

But as already said, check the oil level too.
