Transmission

Ok, I don't think its my clutch, I think its my transmission does anyone know how to do this or how much I should pay to have it done? Or can I do it myself?

RE: Transmission

i would NOT dive into the transmission yourself unless you have experience with your bikes transmission in the first place, not one of those things that regular everyday people wanna screw with. transmission work can cost anywhere from a couple hundred to a thousand dollars. if you're having this many questions about whats going on with your bike, id take it to a shop and let the mechanic ride it and tell you what he thinks, its useful if you want to continue to troubleshoot yourself, and if he charges anything at all, it wont be much.

also, it does still sound like a clutch problem to me, the transmission is a fixed set of gear ratios. the only way that could affect your acceleration is if transmission gears spontaneously decided to change their own ratios. the clutch is the only variable between engine and rear wheel that will effect your rate of acceleration, since it is not a constant like transmission gear ratios, or engine rpm

Thanks for the advice my friend. I will do some more research before I do anything, I do have the Service Manual on the F4i.
