anyone ever put a 190\50 on the rear of a 2001 f4i? if so whats the pros and cons? and is there enough clearence from everything else? or is it really? close?

 

i just got a new rear tire and the guy at this place i go to convinced me to get the 190 over another 180. it's a metzeler m3, and i gotta say i like it a LOT. it took a little while to get used to, but i feel more confident now that with the old tire which was an m1. i like it better on both the freeway and in the turns. oh, and i have a rear tire hugger and the larger tire fits no problem.

 

I have a Dunlop 208 with a hugger. No problems at all with clearance. Tell you the truth I counter weight a lot instead of leaning and this tire seems like its doing a great job at keeping me in the spot that I want to be in.
I never had a 180 on the rear so I cant compare the two.

 

I never even taught of putting a bigger tire on. I bet it looks bad ***

 

All things being equal, putting a 190 on a 180 rim will slightly pinch the tire in on the outer
part of the tire (chicken strip area). So theoretically, the tire may not contact 100% on the veryouter
edges. For street riding may not make much difference.
