Thanks for the update guys, I'm looking to switch out my tires too, and these responses are perfect. It seems like Trishanth has his question taken care of. So, I'm just going to ask a quick question real quick if anyone is paying attention.

My front and rear tire are getting balled, &

I just wanted to know the odds of high/low siding when riding normally, and avoiding slick roads/gravel/etc.. I got a heavy wrist too, but I been riding casually lately.

So my question is, Can I daily ride for 2 months until I get additional funds to get the tires? Or is riding on 'getting there, kind of bald'.. tires pretty critical still?

Thanks in advance.

then dont worry bout it, its your life and your bike, do what u want

u dont have to have our permission to run bald tires. i have friend that do when they needed to and they didnt die. they r still alive. they just bought new ones when they could. u just have to be careful, but u should always be careful on a bike

A lot of tires are very thin on bikes at the point they get bald. Be aware that you could be looking at a possible blow out.

2ct's lasted me 10,000 miles in the rear and 15,000 in the front with all street and canyon riding. My pures have now lasted 7,000 front and 5,000 rear and look great, MAYBE half way wore but just barely and this includes a track day.

Okay, so my quick question was asking whether riding a bike where the tires are almost getting bald, somewhat critical in regards to low/high siding... and that's your post. HAha.. wow.. you were better off not even speaking.

The next 2 guys were more helpful than you, and you got a 1000+ post.

I got my new PP2cts at the beginning of summer and already need a new rear (5000 miles maybe)

http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com is having a huge Michelin tire sale, and the PP2ct (rear only) can be had for 116$ with free shipping. Cant beat that deal for one of the stickiest tires out there.

Default is this a good deal..

front and rear Michelin power pilot 2ct for $200 flat. Used with only 300 miles on them.

Does the tread look like 300 miles? Looks pretty good to me.

If you're looking for a commuting tire, check out the Pirelli Angel. They are a sport touring tire, perfect fro commuting. They have a great tread rating on them as well.
