After you are able to remove the oil filter, go buy a K&N filter and install those. They are much easier to install/remove thanks to a 17mm nut on them.

I used a oil filter plier, dented the sh**t out of the oil filter, but managed to get it out and then installed the K&N.

Get yourself one of these....you might be able to find it at sears, if not a one of your local auto parts stores should have it.

It will do the job, also, just make sure you put the oil filter back on hand tight, not with the wrench.
i had this same problem... is this the correct size i shoudl look for when i go to my advanced auto parts?

2-3in will work 2 1/4 to 3 1/4 will work. We need the smaller end for our filters. I paid 5$ for mine at autozone.

I had bought that one at autozone. The problem I had was that of the 4 tack welds there were supposed to be on the backside holding the cup to the square hole, only 2 held, and both of those 2 failed when I tried to use it. Of course, being that it's me, the wrench decided to break and get stuck on the oil filter itself, giving me absolutely no grip on anything . . . that was a fun oil change

Wow really? Ill have to check that when i get home if its welded or 1piece might be a different one. We have one at the shop thats a couple yrs old that we use often. All you need is a ratchet with it too.

oh, I must have bought the cheap version lol. Mine just had a little round disc tack welded to the inside, maybe 1" diameter w/ the 3/8" ratchet hole in it. Maybe I'll see if I can't find your version there for my next one, or just buy one of the others on this thread
