"Ticking" noise above 4000 revs
Hi all,
New to the forum, so howdy to all.
Took the bike out for a run the other night and noticed a strange "ticking" noise when I open up the throttle. I've checked oil, all well there, chain tension is fine as well (thought it could be the chain knocking).
Are there any common causes for this, noise seems to be coming from top end of engine and only rears it's head when I start to open her up... Around town low rev's seems fine.
I'll be looking at her a little closer later when I finish work, but thought I would post a quick one to check if it's something common.
Thanks in advance for any help.

ORIGINAL: Tahoe SC
well...ticking could also be a slight exhaust leak or valve tap...

Depending on the mileage of your bike, I'd put my money on the CCT being the problem. I noticed the same thing on my bike after 5k miles and it only makes noise from 4.8k-5.2k rpms.
Use the search feature to find more threads on the CCT/engine rattle issue. LOTS OF READING HERE ABOUT THAT.

RE: "Ticking" noise above 4000 revs
Hmm, mine only started recently and I think from memory mines at about 6k mileage... Not at home so cant check for sure atm...
It does sound from reading the other threads that this could well be the CCT.. (I did do a search, just didnt hit quite the right phrase..)
I am guessing that the Honda CCT is hydraulic like most others (dependant on oil pressure...)?
Anyway, suggestions on decent after-market replacement CCT's would be appreciated, definately want rid of this noise!
