Default TFI box vs. Power commander

so I've had my 01 F4i for almost 4yrs now. I bought it with a full Mig Exhaust, I put a K&n in it and have been running just that. When I first bought the bike a bunch of people told me to get a TFI box on it to help the power delivery with my full exhaust. I never got around to it since the bike had excellent power for my first bike, but I'm finding myself lately wanting a bit more.

So in looking for a TFI box I can still find a few but it seems that everyone went away from that in lieu of the PCIII. I am thinking a TFI box since it supposed to work with the ECU on the bike to modify fuel maps to optimize performance. BUT the PCIII I can modify the fuel maps myself which I can see the advantages there also.

Oh yeah I mostly commute on my bike but love to hit the canyons on the weekends and occasionally take it out to the middle of nowhere to do wheelies, stoppies and any other hooliganism.

Opinions on either????

I would reccomend the PC3, I own one and have used it to tune my bike for E-85 with full 85% ethanol blends. With a wideband o2 you can tune your maps to your exact bike. I cannot speak for the TFI box as I have not owned one. Hopefully someone who has owned both will chime in.

Bump to the top!

NO ONE has any opinions on this?? I guess I should just ditch the TFI box idea and go PCIII since nobody seems to even be running the TFI on their bikes.

Never owned a TFI box, but i do own a PCIII. I can say i like the program that the PCIII uses, and how ez the install was. I would also highly recommend if you do get the PCIII to get it tuned by a shop so you can use it to it's fullest.

Hey everyone, I'm looking at buying a bike that has the power commander already installed and I don't think I'd have any need for it. I was wondering if it's easy to remove after it's been installed. I'm not sure exactly what it does, but I don't think I'll need any additional power other than what the bike came from the factory with. So now that the bike has had the power commander and I assume it's been tuned, is it irreversible, or is it pretty simple to remove the power commander?

Thanks.

Call me dumb, but aren't there different models? I was talking with my dealer, and asked me if I knew what model I wanted. One that works? But seriously, I have a slip on, and I'll be going with eh K&N filter, just want to know what will work the best, but doesn't have to be so.
