temp settings for f4i fan

is there any way to adjust the fans temp setting? on my 03 f4i the fan comes on around 229-231 degrees i would like it to come on around 220-224 so the bike never gets as hot as 229-231. does the high temp really affect the bike?
it rarely gets that hot but sometimes when im stuck in traffic its gets really hot i have seen the temp gauge reach 233 at the highest.

Hmm. The stock setting has the fan coming on and off at 220..Mine will turn on at 220/221 and then dependent on whether I'm sitting or not will go up to 224 but no higher...when it reaches back down to 220 it shut back off...that's odd that yours doesnt come on until 230ish:icon_shrug:

hydro on my 02 f4i the fan comes on at 229-230 as well... i would also like to install a new temp fan switch that comes on around 220.

The lower fan temp switch is a mod found here. You can pickup the switch from most auto parts stores. Its a temp switch for a 83 Nissan Pulsar.

220-230 is NORMAL operating temps (on a hot day). Yes it's uncomfortable and if you choose to install a lower fan kickon switch thats up to you. No noticable performance gains other than a few degrees cooler.

i wired my fan to a switch to where i can manually turn it on and off. I dont have to wait till the bike gets super hot for the fan to come on. i keep it on wen i ride around town/city keeps temp arounf 180ish then on highway fan is off. i love it.

^You sir, are a genius.

Mine comes on, but doesn't seem to do a whole lot to bring it back down, more keep it a constant temp.

But remember, most of the metal on the bike is aluminum, so it's going to absorb is dissipate heat quickly. But it does suck when you're just sitting. Normally I just turn my bike off at long lights so I don't have to deal with it just torching my leg.

thanks for the advise and help guys im def gonna put a new switch in i like the idea of it being either switched on or off manually but still coming on by itself when need be. when i get around to doing all the electric mods ill post pics and such.
