That's interesting because I just put Amsoil in my last change and noticed that it gets smoother as temps rise. Very weird indeed.

well that doesn't make me feel too good. I don't know how the 2 PO treated it so I don't know if they hurt something internally. I don't think its to the pont where its going to go out on me but its not comforting when by the time you get to work its no where near as smooth as it was when you left home.

Mine seems to be the opposite...harder to catch second when cold. But then once hot N is occasionally hard to locate

I have noticed too when temps are hotter the tran's feels a little harder to shift. Just normal I have always felt with these bikes. Once it cools off going down the road in the 170's-180's it feels good again. 200's its a bit more rough but nothing that's not bearable

i hate the way the whole bike runs once over 205, I think its just mental in the back of my head, too hot for comfort. Traffic blows.

Ditto: My threshold is over 215. I hate when the fan comes on...so I go fast. LOL

Hey guys, did anyone manage to find the solution to hot shifting?
Mine doesn't go into neutral if it's hot...

I tried clutch adjustment - doesn't help.
Fresh oil - helps, but marginally.
Blipping the throttle before shifting - sometimes helps.

I've also noticed that - if you put it on stand, 1st hear, pull clutch all way in - rear wheel spins fast and you have to put considerable force in order to stop it. So it sounds as clutch drags significantly when hot.

What would be the solution to that?

Hot shifting slightly clunkier is normal and not something to fix. As for your problem the clutch seems to be dragging, which means open her up and inspect the clutch. Using proper bike oil I assume?

Shifting is always fine with me. Finding neutral when hot is a problem.
I tried synthetic and mineral motorcycle oils form different vendors.

I have opened the clutch, could not find anything wrong. Plates look OK, they are thick, within spec. Grooves are not notched. Nothing looks burnt or warped. What else to look for?
