Temp = harder shifting?
 

So I have noticed that when I first get on my bike in the morning and let the motor warm up some my bike shifts like a dream throughout all gears, up and down. However as the engine get hotter, up into the 200's, and the air temp gets warmer, 80+ it has a harder time shifting, more clunky/notchy shifts. Anyone else notice this or should I check my self in cause I'm crazy:icon_shrug:

Try a fresh oil change and use a synthetic. Oil is the lifeblood on sportbikes going through the motor, tranny, and clutch.

It just had an oil change and I use Amsoil. It has always done this but I feel like it is worse now. I just don't know if this is something I should be concerned about or not.

I to feel that in the morning when I fire my bike up my bike shifts so smooth and by time im at work its little bit more clunky

Im glad to here that theres other people out there that this happens to too

but then again i thought it was normall cuz my bike is an EX stunter

Just something else I'll think about. But I buy it.

I've been running amsoil for awhile now. The only thing I notice is it is harder to find neutral once the temp gets above 200 (especially when stopped going from 1st to N). I just think it is the clutch heating up and expanding causing more friction than when at lower temps :icon_shrug: But that is just what I tell myself and have no proof :icon_playing:

N is the one gear I can get no matter what, some times too often. Nothing worse then going to shift to 2nd let out the clutch and get on the gas like your going somewhere in a hurry and all you do is make a lot of noise and put your head down in shame

I've had to hang my head more times than i like to admit haha

I wish I had more friends with F4i's to know if this is normal. I'm in the market for a 600RR so I might not have to worry about it for too much longer:icon_wink:

+1 for me. Same thing on my bike. Maybe it's the lazy thing too that people talk about when missing 2nd, not shifting with the authority needed. After a ride maybe you just let up on the force a lil' not noticing. Coupled with a mechanical aspect as well.
