tank dents

when i purchased the bike it came with a 2 dents from the p.o. dropping stuff in her small garage.

my question is how to remove the dents.

well if you cant do it yourself take it to a body shop and get them popped or just fill em with bondo and get it painted and pretend they were never there (possibly also at a body shop)

Is the paint cracked?
If not try to find a paintless dent removing shop and it should be fairly cheap.

yeah the paint is fine, and I didnt want to use one of the methods of drilling the tank or filling the dent. I was hoping there would be a fix I could do myself, such as one of the bent rods to push the dent out from inside the tank or some type of suction cup thing

Asked my pops about it and he said that if the dent is small, most suction cups wont be small enough to help you, so bent rods may be your best bet outside of a body shop

i popped 2 out of my tank using a tire iron from my grand prix, with a big wad of duct tape on the end, just pushed on them from the inside. worked great.

I have a couple tiny tiny ones in the tank I'm using on my project. I'm just having them glazed (bondo) and the tank painted to match my body kit. If your tank is really nice and it didn't break the paint, I would call one of the paintless dent removal places like what was suggested by others

alright thanks a lot guys, hey magnus when you popped them out did the paint remain fine on the outside?

Yes it did, but the dents I had didn't crack the paint at all, and were fairly round. Slow and easy with the pressure. :)

thanks, it wont damage the inside of the tank either if you put something soft of the end of the tool right?
