Swingarm Spools
 

Hey,

I was told that there are no swingarm spools available for the F4i. Is this true.

People will suggest not to put spools on either you well have to drill into a swing arm or get it welded up. Instead just find a good stand that has pads on it. Nothing wrong with it and they work great.

prolly more like the f4i swingarm has no mounts for swingarm spools

spool themselves r universal-ish honda uses 8mm and i think suzuki does too and then the others use either 6 or 10 mm



why r u wanting some? just for fun or for a stand?

The PO gave me a stand. It has instuctions on how to lift it. But I am a bit clumsy. So I was onederin' if I could do it a bit easier.

spools on the f4i wont make it easier bc youll have to find the right spot to put them so the stand holds properly.

just make sure the pads on the stand are lined up under the arm and then push down, its the same as doing it with the spool style stand

Have a shop weld the bungs on for you. Anyone that settles for a "padded" lift, has never truly had to work on their bike. They are good for basic maintenance, but once you start beating on the bike, they will slide.

I've been using a padded stands for over a year for any and all uses including indoor storage during winter. (in my kitchen, where drunks commonly sit on it and make vroom vrooom sounds, all on the stands) Never had a single "slip"

You can easily drill n tap holes in the swingarm for spools. Will not harm the integrity or strength of it. Just make sure to put the holes so they dont interfere with getting the rear axle out. I had mine just fwd of the axle bolt and towards the bottom of the swingarms. Or just do the 600RR swingarm swap lol.

And I've used both the pad n spools. Spools win hands down!!!

spools are far better than pads, especially if you do a lot of work on your bike. i have had a few slips on my bike and other bikes with pads, its just so much more secure on the spools.

there is another option, the only downside is you have to use a padded stand when you need to remove your wheel/axle:
