Suspenion feels funny... Hmmm

Okay so I have done enough reading and searching. My 01 f4I suspension just feels saggy/really soft/spongy. Im 5'8, 148lbs. I know I just moved and really don't have anyone to give a hand measuring sag and all that. I believe I had 3 lines showing on the front forks with about half from hard/soft. Trying to see if anyone has someone close settings for the front and rear. I will probably be having gals ride on the back once in a while so I really don't want a ton of rear sag. I read there is a lift link, more so in the stunter area, but wondering if it's a good street mod for riding.

Because the stock fork springs are so soft, you'd have to crank them all the way down to get anywhere close to correct sag. Try tightening them to 2 lines showing and see how that feels. For the comp and rebound, try 1 or 2 turns out from full in. Set the rear preload to 3 or 4. maybe even 5 or 6 with passengers. rear comp and rebound 1 or 2 out from full in.

Finding the right suspension settings requires you to fine tune it to your liking. I can't tell you exactly what you should use. first you need to set your sag correctly. Then find some base comp and rebound settings. Go out and test it out, adjust as you feel necessary. There are different tells for which settings to change. But you also have to seperate rider error from bike error in order to do this right.

Thanks for that link Dbeau! I had been looking for something like that. My back end gets pretty squirrelly when cornering at high speeds. A small crack in the pavement causes it to feel less sticky and I don't like that. I will have a go at adjusting the suspension, hopefully that helps!

I've found for me [160lbs with clothes] that I have to give the rear a bit more preload then is normal. I probably only have about 15-20mm of sag but its worked fantastic, I've almost never had the rear lose traction on me even at the track running pilot pures and upper B group speeds. Stock the rear spring is perfect for my weight. The front on the other hand....
.68kg/mm springs = perfect for a 90lbs rider. Where the hell they got the guy who decided to use these soft ass springs I don't know. They are perfect for filling garbage cans and throwing at kawasaki riders only. You'll find the front end is really the limiting factor when you start pushing lap times. Also the geometry of the bike is really relaxed, I dumped the front down as much as I could and raised the rear with at least 4mm of shims.
