Suggestions on F4i Race Bodywork

I need race plastics! Anyone have suggestions or pics of their F4i race bodywork?

AirTech

Incognito: AirTech
So you recommend these? How well do they fit and crash

Incognito 10-20-2009 08:45 PM

No, I haven't used them. Just saw this post slipping quietly towards the bottom (bump). I have read however that fitment is excellent. They're made out of fiberglass so they're probably not as durable as OEM but probably a lot easier to repair; definitely way cheaper though.

Yes those airtech are the cheapest I have seen. I might be calling them up if I cant find a used set this winter.

I need an oil containment pan and it doesnt look like these have them. I wish this damn plastic stuff wasnt so expensive.

I bought a set of piteck. 330 shipped but ive heard they are pretty ****ty. Ill post some pics once I get them mounted next week.

I'd drill my holes in these, mount some sliders, and go nuts on the track. The only reason I'd get a track set, is so when it falls, I couldn't care less about the plastics, and they'll be cheap enough to replace.

optimal racing (if they make some for the f4i). great fit albeit heavy

PITECK sucks.

Well the pitecks are complete JUNK!! I have them packed up and ready to return for a refund I am just waiting on the shipping address.

It took me almost 2 hours to get the tail on because I was so scared of breaking the damn bodywork. They did not provide me with an Undertail, I guess they expected me to use the stock one.

I could not even get the upper to line up or mount, it rubs against the radiator on both sides. The windshield area, the V part, is almost 2 inches wider than the stock plastics I could not find any way to position it on the fairing stay so it could be bolted down. The upper also has some weird pieces that stick inwards right where the air intake things are. I removed the air intake tubes and the thing still wouldnt line up. I see no way how it could be mounted with the tubes inplace. There were other issues but too long to describe how messed up it was.

I didnt even attempt to mount the lower or front fender. Besides the bad fit these things are ROCK hard. When I mounted the tail everytime I tried to stretch or bend the plastics you could hear them cracking ( couldnt visibly see anything). I knew these things were junk but I thought they would be useable.. Guess not. Ill be getting some armour bodies through NESBA this winter, big discounts through them plus a 1 year free membership renewal.

Dont buy Piteck.
