Storing CBR 600 F4i for the winter....

What do I have to do to store my motocycle for the winter? I am bringing it to my parents garage in the cold and was wondering how do I properly store it?

Fuel stabilizer.
Battery on a tender.
plug intake and exhaust so rodents don't decide to live in it.
put it on stands (not strictly necessary).

thanks alot. what is th ebest tupe of fuel stabilizer?

Seafordguy 09-28-2009 06:30 PM

I would put some SeaFoam stabilizer in it, and go out and drive it 15 or 20 miles. I wouldnt bother with the intake/exhaust thing but it isn't a bad idea. You can use a battery tender or just take it out and charge it every once in a while. Winters aren't as long as people make them sound.

Sta-bil FTW... Get you some of that!

Or most auto shops have it on the shelf

I've used Sta-bil many of times with good results.

Typically I use Sta-bil in my boat during the winter because it is cheaper than SeaFoam, and when I am trying to stabilize 150-200 gallons it saves a decent amount of money.

Also used it in Mowers, Cars, Etc.....

I have been using sta-bil for about 5 or 6 years in my del sol. Even once it was turbo'd, and it pops off every time in the spring without skipping a beat. This is such a sad time of year. :( all the toys must get put away.
