Storage/cargo for F4i
Hello all,
Sorry, I know that this has been asked before and I did try a search, but couldn't find what I was looking for. What is a good storage bag/cargo bag or sack or whatever that is good for our F4i's. I have the 2004 with the banana seat and I will be carrying my books for school (probably about 3 or 4 books), some shoes and my lock. I have a medium backpack and it is usually filled to the brim with all of my belongings and I didn't want to have two backpacks (one for on my back and one for being strapped to the rear seat). Also, if you are going to tell me to get full-coverage insurance, I already have full-coverage. I know I am probably too insecure, but that is just how I am. Thanks for any recommendations. |
Tank bag maybe?

A big enough backpack should do you just fine. My boyfriend has this one:

I use a smallish backpack and a tailbag. I have two sizes of tailbags. Both attach with bungees, have a waterproof cover and a net over the top. I also have a magnetic tank bag, but I never seem to use it much. I do a lot of distance touring with this setup--like 1500 mile tours--and it has worked very well. Forces you to pack light. --Paul |
What does insurance have to do with anything? haha
Do you want to be able to take the luggage with you when you get to school, like a backpack? If so, you should consider getting either a bigger, better backpack, or a good-sized tank bag that comes with a shoulder strap. I have the OGIO Tanker bag and it's huge, it would fit some books and shoes no problem. If you don't need to carry the bags with you, a smaller set of saddle bags will do you well. |

Full-coverage insurance = no need for locks (not in my book; its just what some people think).
As for the need for the bag to go with me, it is not a necessity, but I do take my bags in with me anyway. I was thinking of one of those chest looking bags that sit on top of the rear seat (the ones that kind of look like square cooler), but I don't know if they are big enough. Here is what I am talking about: http://www.newenoughhp.com/browse/vi...ct_images/1122 Incidentally, this one is pictured with a banana seat F4i! |
That one doesn't look big enough for books and shoes together. There are other bigger tail bags that should be, though.
