Stock rearsets good for the track?

Ive done a trackday last year and scrapped my boot a few times. I was trying to keep my feet in, but its possible i let them drift to the outside of the peg. Either way wasnt a pleasant experience :). I cringe thinking about scraping a peg (which I havent done and dont want too). My friend does it all the on his FZ1 and says he just got used to it. But I wouldnt want to experience that once. So im just curious of the ground clearance of the stock rearsets. Will I be fine if I just make sure I keep my feet in tight? Or is anyone scraping there pegs?

Stock pegs scrape bad and so def need rearsets on the f4i. Also once you get fast enough, you'll start to scrape midpipes and lower fairings as well. Although once your at that point, you should be getting a more track oriented bike :icon_bike:

Stock rearsets are fine if you buy some mount plates on ebay [1" up and 1" back] and remove the feeler pegs. Aftermarket sets are beyond stupid in price and not needed.

Proper foot position on the pegs will alleviate some boot/peg scraping. At a certain point though, you will scrape even w/ proper foot position. For the occasional trackday, as recommend, the riser-plates will do wonders.

I've scraped a peg at the track, and although it's a little disconcerting, it's really not a big deal.

You can increase clearance by proper body position (sliding your butt over and hanging off) and smooth and steady brake and throttle application, so your suspension isn't compressed when you're leaned over. And if that's not enough, go to the riser plates.

im using mine as a track bike only and i scrape both peg.. exhaust and also stand .. its good to start but when you want to push more its not the right bike for track ...
