SS Brake line Cover Removal

I just recently picked up a set of Galfer SS front lines for the F4i. I got a crazy good deal on a set of red lines. Can I can slice through the plastic cover so its just the standard SS color showing? The red wouldnt be the worst thing in the world, and I guess I could always paint them but the silver would look nice as well.

Any Ideas?

little off topic cause i dont know the answer but i was wondering about these ss lines.
do they make a big difference vs. stock?
also is it worth it to get front and back lines?

sorry for jack justing66

The plastic is a protective covering for the braided steel, i wouldnt modify brake lines in ANY WAY. I think red lines would look pretty good anyways. Even on an orange bike lol

Cody.

SS lines offer a HUGE improvement over the stock rubber line. Don't waste money on upgrading the rear brakes unless your doing some serious track time.

Performance-wise, it's dang near the best bang-for-your-buck out there. You will defineatly notice a difference.

+1 on what Cody said, though. I wouldn't try to remove the jacket, you might damage the braid under it.

As far as brand, any quality name-brand hose will do. It's not a difficult/expensive thing to manufacture. They are all pretty much state-of-the-art.
