Spurtering and starting issues

On a recent road trip to ride with a buddy my bike spurted and died and would not start. Bump started it and it ran fine so continued with the trip. Once again near the destination it spurted and died. Took it to the nearest shop. they checked and my battery was dead. I replaced the battery. Went riding and the next day (300km's into the trip my bike would not start again.) End of the trip for me. Bumped stared it and it ran fine. Rode it back to my buddies place and a few stops it started up fine. next day on my return trip stopped to get gas and after would not start. Bump started again ran fine. once again started up fine after. Got home and took it to my local shop. They checked my battery and it was dead. they charged my battery and checked my wiring and everything was good (great shop, they did not charge me for the check) The day I picked it up i was out with a friend and my bike started sputtering again and died, bump start and ran fine for a few days before i got it back to the shop (same thing) Things i notice before it would sputter and not start is my reserve light would come on (close to being full on gas) and the dash would light up like a x-mas tree. Sometime it would crank over a few time and not start and other times sounds like a solenoid on a car clicking. Any Ideas? My bike is a 03 F4i with 50,000 plus km's on it

Thanks in advance

Sounds to me like it is a charging issue. Could be something like a bad battery, it might not be able to hold a full charge and these bikes need a charged battery to run. Double check to make sure your connections are tight and not corroded. Could be your R/R going out. I hear that is a fairly common problem on the 03-06. Hope this helps.
