Sprocket nuts and bolts

I just recently replaced my chain and sprockets and when installing the rear sprocket the manual calls for 47ft.lbs but when I tried torqueing it down the bolt keeps turning with it, just wondering if anyone else has this problem and how you over came it? also I think I may have stripped one of the nuts, where can I buy one for the time being until I order a new set? Thanks in advance. Fyi went with a 15/47 with a 525srx ek chian, protek front sprocket and vortex rear.

The ace hardwares in Tulsa carry a pretty complete line of metric nuts and bolts and various exotica. That's where I get my "oh shoot!" hardware.
And F34me is giving you the straight skinny, it's usually best to torque when the bikes on the ground (saves the embaressment of pulling it off your stands).
If you really want to torque before you put the chain on, slip a 2x4 or padded piece of pipe between the spokes and turn the wheel snugging it up to the swingarm, then torque away.

Are the bolts not allen key on one side and hex nut on the other? I haven't looked at mine, but all bikes I have ever worked on have been like that... You put the hex key in one side and hold it while you crank the ratchet on the other side. Or better yet, wedge the ratchet against the swingarm and turn the allen key.

If you're talking about the bolts that hold the sprocket to the wheel, there are bolts that run through the back of the sprocket and then nuts are torqued onto those bolts from the front side to hold the sprocket on. If you examine these bolts they are shaped in such a way as to hug the flange that the sprocket bolts to. It seems with too much torque they can slip and not hugging the flange properly. I have this issue but just tightened the bolts that slip the best I can and have never had a problem.
