Default Sprocket Cover Mod...

i am doing some work to the bike right now and i got to thinking about the recent post about ditching the front sprocket cover. i love the open sprocket look, but there is a lot of important stuff around it, so i decided to mod the cover. i love it cause you can see the sprocket and chain, and it still serves its purpose of protecting everything from the sprocket, but all the BS has been cut away. took about 3 hours to get it all cut away using a dremel (would have taken less if i wasnt a damn perfectionist) and then i put two coats of spray-on truck bed liner on it. total cost around $3 (for the spray paint). let me know what you guys think...

Looks sweet!! My buddy did that same thing too on his 1000RR... I like it!

Just be careful with your shoelaces and stuff like that, so nothing gets caught in it

i always tuck my laces in when i ride, but good call. i learned from a buddy whose lace wrapped around his peg or something and got caught. went to put his foot down at a stop light, and down went him and his bike. broke his foot doing it too. definitely started tucking my laces after that...

Looks interesting. Creativity is good, but I thought that you did the GP-shift sproket cover mod.

It's where you cut away the sproket cover to accommodate rotating the shift lever arm 180 degrees.

A lot of people can't (or don't see the need) to change. It's OK. It's a track/ racing thing. I hope you didn't take my comment as criticizm (sp?). I just thought that you had come up with something for that. I'd been thinking of doing it but reluctant to cut my cover.
