spools

My 01 F4i does not have spools on it.

Has anyone added these to their bike, and if so does anyone have instructions on how to do so.

I searched for this on the site and didn't find anything.

Thanks,

PM woodyracing...
he got spools welded on to his swing arm
otherwise you'll need to tap the swing arm and install spools...only thing with is is that if you do not have a high mount exhaust, it will hit your midpipe or can when the suspension compresses.

Pit Bull makes some inserts for non-factory-drilled swing arms. I didn't put them in mine because I don't want that big of a hole in my swingarm, but, hey, if you want 'em, those should work.

WTF are you talking about? The stock exhaust would have to drop down like 3.5" before it would hit it, and even then the spools would have to stick out a good ways to hit the can.

sorry it took so long, been busy as hell

I sent my swingarm to Pit-Bull and had them weld on tabs for spools (they did the welding for free and sell the tabs for pretty cheap)

anybody can weld them on but I wanted the experts to do it because aluminum tends to warp and lose its strength when heated, plus I bought the swingarm off ebay and had it shipped directly to them so all it cost me was a few extra $ in shipping.

The only decent alternative is to buy LP's inserts, I did actually buy them but decided on the tabs instead mainly for the stability assurance. Tahoe makes a good point though, if you do the inserts be careful where on the swingarm you drill because unless you do it on the complete bottom left of the swingarm near the weld its gonna be fairly close to the can.

i simple question would've been fine, no need for the "WTF"...
take a look at the bike first before you get all irrate...see where the pipe is and where the swingarm is...it doesn't have to drop 3.5 inches to hit the can. so what are you yelping at? just look at woodyracing's siggy and you can see it there.

I wasn't getting irate, I was perfectly calm... I just think you're wrong. I DID go out and look at my bike before I made that comment. I don't see any way in hell that a spool would hit the stock can.

RE: spools

No F4is come with spools or any provision for mounting them.
