I have no idea what its for, but it has two prongs and the owner of this bike has just spliced them together. i believe it was this piece circled in red (note this is NOT THE ACTUAL BIKE, but something I found online that resembled the electrical connection in question) http://i34.tinypic.com/34r5zxt.jpg what is this thing? the chain needs to be oiled and re-tightened all fluids need to be flushed and re-filled new pads, but could use new rotors also needs a new battery, thing dies pretty quickly. seller says its original (maybe this will fix speedo problem? assuming its not the speed sensor) also no mention of the valve adjustment, how much does a mechanic charge to do the valve adjustment? all in all, i talked him down to $2800, still thinking about whether to pull the trigger... hes also including a $700 shoei helmet in new condition that i could sell (too big anyways) he was initially asking 3200$ for whatever its worth.. |

they two clutch wires are a clutch safety switch. So when your bike shuts off and is in gear with the kick stand up The bike will not start unless the clutch is pulled in.

I don't think I'd give him more than $2000.
Awfully high miles and seems like theres quite a few problems. Just my 2ยข |

2k? man i have seen wrecked bikes go for more !!!
I went to see a bike downed all the fairings broken, rear sets broken dents in tank scraped up tail sold for 2500 in less then 12 hours!! |
RE: So I found a killer deal on an 01 CBR 600 F4i
I'd tell him to keep his helmet and give it to you for 2200, then you'll more than likely get him at least down to $2500, which is max for what I'd pay for that.

i'd try to get him to drop the price some more. I just wouldnt spend 2800 on a bike with 31K on the clock. plus this bike appears to need a little work. All of the fairings for this bike, IF you buy them OEM. You will be spending around $2K for them. So in return you would have about $4800 invested in the bike after the plastics are bought. Now this doesnt cover the other odds and ends that are broken and need fixed.............I bought my ole lady an 01 f4i in MINT condition with 8K on the clock, and i paid less than your offer.....=-)
