Default SLIP-ON + K&N Filter= Power commander?

I have a micron slipon and putting in a K&N filter. Will i need to put a power commander on or do you think that my bike will be fine without one?

I've got a Jardine RT-1 slip on and K&N filter on mine and USED to have a PC installed on it. The bike definitely had a smoother power delivery and better throttle response but as far as better power I don't know. I had to disconnect the PC because it was causing my bike to shut off while riding it on bumpy roads[sm=jawdrop.gif].
Since it has been disconnected, bike doesn't seem to have as much midrange as before but barely noticeable, but bike runs just fine at all RPMS. Check with Micron to see if it is necessary to install a Power Commander, but I don't think that you HAVE to have it.

I have already shelled out big $$$ in the past couple months and if i can get away with it for one season with my bike crapping out that would be the way to go

Like it was stated, it is better throttle response and with the filter/slip-on combo, you would probably be better with a power commander. Micron states that no remaping is needed but, thats probably without the filter.

I just put a micron slip on and a k&n filter on my bike and with the PC III the throttle response was a lot better then w/o it. the bike seemed to stumble a little without it.

with slip on and new filter without powercommander you are causing your bike to run to lean which is bad for valves!!!

i notice you have an o6 which means when you put on your slip on you disconected your o2 sensor and you did away with the cat converter which is even more air flow so good luck with those valves !!

I'm not worried about the valves. I put on the PC III and loaded up the closest map that i could find. Next week I will be dyno tuning my bike and making changes to the map that I am using now to even better suit my bike.
