Default Slip on exhaust with or without a PCIII (or similar

just wondering if there are a lot of people out there without the PC & have a S/O. I'm getting an exhaust, and wondering if a PCII is a 100% MUST have in fear of hurting the motor.

I do things in stages because of a shortage of funds. I really want the PCIII but still saving for it. I opted to get a slip-on first.

i had a friend with an exhaust & no PCIII & he blew his motor...going to speed limit on the freeway. I'm afraid i might run into the same problem if i get the exhaust w/out the PCIII

I don't see how that's possible unless he negeltated his bike. The PCIII only controls the fuel mapping.

M4 slip-on for 2 years on a 6 year old bike. Runs the same as always W/O a pc or anything else installed. No problems.

Any time you change the intake and/or exhaust you should remap.

When I had my slip-on and no PC, my bike would heisitate when I jumped on the throttle from a stop. The PC fixed that. I also saw an increase in MPG and a smoother throttle response with the PC.

I think the PC is worth the money and should accompany a slip-on.
