Considering the market there, I would. I work with a guy from Jacksonville that says he shopped in his area and "jumped" on a 97 cbr 600 for 3800 because it was a good deal!!!

thats a lot of miles, make sure the valves were adjusted on time, and that ALL maint has been done
I wouldn't even consider buying a bike with that high milage unless he can prove all the maint was done, receipts and all

what if he did all the work himself? then no receipts for any adjustments!

i'd talk him down a bit more....new rotors are expensive...and so is a new rear tire...with that, you're over your 3500 budget already.

I do alot of buying and selling bikes, (between 3-6 a year) so I don't pay more than 3k for any bike older than an 04 and I set a $700 limit on the parts that I'm going to need to fix it. I put together my 01 929 for 3300, and I bought every single piece off of e-bay individually. If you like the bike, get it. Just keep in mind that there is always going to be a better deal.
