What bwayers said is correct. Most battery problems are due to improper preparation. When you buy a new battery whether the dealership says they have charged it or not, you should put it on a trickle charger for a few hours. That is unless you plan to go ride for a few hours. Then the bikes charging system will do it. As far as the charging system goes I'm not sure how much it would charge at 2-3k rpms. I think it doesn't start to charge significantly until higher revs. And Yuasa's cost more supposedly because they a.) use a higher and denser grade of lead and b.) because they are less likely to have problems. But that all goes back to preparation and maintenance. If you aren't going to be riding your bike for a bit definitely invest in a battery tender. It comes with a lead you can leave attached to the bike and they're usually on 30 bucks or so. I work at the local Yamaha/Kawasaki shop. And just for a shameless plug check out our website when you're looking for tires or other accessories. We offer a discount and we ship. Most of the time we have the lowest prices on tire. The website is www.powersportswarehouse.com . Check it out and let me know what y'all think. And I'll go ahead and apologize for not being a Honda dealer. And if anyone's in the upstate SC area let me know, I'm always around riding.
