Default shooting 9" flames under decelleration

I've had my 02 f4i fora little over a year now. when i got it, it came with a 2-bros high-mount pipe (no more cat) and pc-III. when i rev it up (~7-8k)and let the engine slow itself down (especially when cold) i hear "pop, pop" and a ~9" flame shoots out of the tailpipe. Is there something wrong with my bike, or is this just a side-effect of the mods?

Other than the cool factor at night I would say it sounds like you are running rich. May want to check the map that is loaded on your PCIII - or if you really wanted to get it purring, go have it dyno tuned and I'm sure they would fix that problem and also make a fair improvement to the performance.

you can also tell that you are rich by looking at the end of your exhause pipe... It will get very black and sootypretty quickly, and you'll find it more of a pain in the **** to clean.

My buddies GSXR 600 with a Yoshi slip-on used to do that too....can't remember if he had the Power Commander or not though

But yeah you're just running rich

Pretty cool to see the flames though
