Shifter problem

Hey everyone my 01 has been acting up as of late. When cold everything runs perfect. But as i get over 150 degrees on the temperature gauge my shifter starts acting up. When at a stop i shift into neutral and the light comes on nothing ab normal there. But if i turn the bike off, while still in neutral, and try to turn it back on it wont fire. The neutral light blinks when hitting the electric starter. Ive been looking at my service manual doesn't show much about this problem. Hope the sensor or something is just dirty or loose. Please help! Everytime i gas up i have to wait at least 15 mins for my bike to cool then it starts. My bike also does not start when in gear and holding the clutch in.

A possibility is a kickstand sensor issue. I know my bike sometimes won't start in gear. My fix is to lower the kickstand then raise it up again, then it works. My bike also sometimes shuts off when its on the kickstand and then I standit straight up. I think that's also an issue with my tilt sensor. Anyway, maybe you have more than one issue.... your problem sounds like my first isssue, although whether ot not my bike is in neutral doesn't change anything.

Sorry didn't get back to you earlier. Been Traveling. But thanks for the reply Ill check into the kickstand issue and let you know what I find. Just odd that this all started happening out of nowhere. Have you ever put your bike into neutral and the light flickers then when you release the clutch it goes away? Is there a clutch sensor im missing?

I have no idea man. But my neutral light only works intermittently as well. I have just found ghetto-work arounds for most of my problems.
