Setting Forks Flush With Triple Tree
 
Hello everyone, I'm trying to mount my protapers with protaper oversized risers but I can't clear the top of the fork tube. if i were to beat it down to be flush with my triple would it just completely throw off the stance or would it even be noticable?

The bike will handle horrible. Raising the front slows down front end response, making the bike steer like a harley. The front end of the bike needs to be lowered from the factory not raised. If you raise the rear end enough to compensate you might be able to make it work though.

I apologize i meant lower it not raise it. Would it just consist of lifting the front end off the ground and beating down on the fork stems? also would it make the stance of my bike ride all goofy?

The more fork tube showing above the triple tree, the lower the front end will be. Setting fork tube tops flush with triple will raise the front end. I had like 30mm of tube above my triple back when I ran the stock rear shock.

I know this thread is old. If you can get away with not makin the forks flush you wouldn't be raising it as much. When I first ran MX bars, I had to raise my bike (aka make the forks lower in the triples) but only about HALF way to being flush for my specific risers/bars. I personally didn't notice any difference in riding, then again, I'm not a pro track rider who is super keen on tiny changes.

Imo the f4i's front end is pretty soft to begin with, so I don't think raising the front slightly would throw your riding off much if any. Unless your a track rider. with a properly setup suspension for your riding/weight (aka sprung/valved for your weight, sag set properly etc) I doubt it will really effect you too much, if you even notice it.
