Default Service advice please

I've got about 10,300 miles now and need some advice on what exactly I should have the dealership service. I change my own oil every 2500 miles and have also changed my air filter recently. But I'm not comfortable messing with anything else. How about the brakes, brake fluid, other important items? Also, about how much should I expect to pay?

Thanks...

keep changin the oil, adjusting and lubing the chain and checkin tire pressure. thats about it. i'd wait till 16000 to replace the plugs, flush the coolant, brake fluid, etc...

Sweet 95, thanks. The less I have to do now the more I can ride, no complaints here!

Nothing else is due until 16K so don't sweat it and ride for awhile.

also, replace the air filter at 12000, and check the valve clearances at 16000.

noob with a similar question:
How do I check the air filter to see if its clean? I've got 10.5k miles on my f4i. Got it at 8k 2 months back
Attached is a figure... could someone please point it out?

My service experience so far includes oil change and bike 'raising' (front and back) since the last owner got it lowered. Should I feel confident in avoiding the dealership for a checkup?

it's number 1 in the figure. you have to remove 2 bolts at the front of the tank, unplug the sensor, remove screws...and remove the top of the air filter box...

Hey believe me if I say it's easy to do you better believe it is! I changed mine out and it's really straight forward. I changed mine at about 9500 miles.
