Noob here, so if this is common knowledge, just let it pass. I have noticed that the earlier 01/02 two piece seats allow for a lower sit height then the later one piece seats. For someone like me who is somewhat on the short side, the difference is significant. Comparing my 02 to an 05, the acutual seat height difference is only about 1/4" shorter for the 02. The big difference is my 02 is much narrower at the front then the 05 which allows for a greater extension of my legs. I go from tiptoe only on the 05 to almost (about 70%) flat footed on my 02. A possible consideration for those who are vertically challenged. There is a downside however; my 02 seat has much less padding then the later seats.

 

I believe the seat height between the 2 is the same?
Was the suspension set up the exact same?
Both claim to have a seat height of 31.9"

 

All other settings identical as well as frame heights between the two bikes. Both bike were measured on level ground at the same time. The big difference between the two is the width of the seats at the front. My 02 is much narrower which allows for more inline leg extension.
