RPMs while crusing?

Lets say you're crusing at 80 or 90mph on the freeway and its all flat road. What what are your RPMS at?

RE: RPMs while crusing?

Usually I would be in 6th gear and whatever speed is with the flow of traffice is what my rpms would be. Maybe 4 or 5 K. I have never really paid attention.

6th gear going 80-90 mph = 8-9k rpm with -1/+2 gearing

I think 70 is about 6k so 80-90 is probably 7-8...

My bike cruises 5000 RPM at 60 miles an hour in 6th gear. Not to sure at 80 or 90.

RE: RPMs while crusing?

Ok thanks. I usually hit 6.5 to 7.5k at around 80-90mph. I was wondering if I am getting bad gas mileage because of the higher RPMs
