Default rim polishing?

i was going to polish my rims but i have a question. i have seen all sorts of pics with the lip polished and directions on how
to do it. would it be the same if i wanted to polish the spokes and leave the lip black. i just think it would look diffrent and wanted to
know if you guys think it would work.
thanks

good luck on that.. if you have ever delt with paint remover or aircraft remover leaving a black lip is gonna be even more work but if you have the patients wich most of us dont you are most likely just gonna polish the whole thing for a cleaner look and you wont have to worry about getting paint remover or scratching(when sanding) that black lip you wont. But if you are crafty give it a try.

be ready to either clearcoat those after you polish them or be ready to rub them out every week, cause they will dull fast

I have polished a lot of aluminum over the years. Once polished, it is pretty easy to keep that way. Rub it with Mother's Aluminium polish about 3-4 times a year and it will look like new always.

Your idea sound great. But, I think that would be so frigg'n hard to do. You will never be able to have straight clean edges. It will end up being wobbly. I think it would be easier to remove all the paint, then apply rim tape.

i think that if i tape off the rim real good i should be able to do it if i do the edges real careful. im going to try to find a messed up rim and experiment then try it on my bike, or if i mess up ill just have to polish the whole rim
