Revving and shifting at high RPMs. Feels like the engine is gonna get damaged.

Hey guys. I used to ride an F4I and now ride an RR. The F4I seems a lot tamer and less of a screamer than the RR. (IDK if its just in my head) When Riding around town I usually shift around 4k to 5k and in 6th. Anyway I sometimes ride in the freeway and my usual RPMs is like 7k or 8k. I am not sure but it is very buzzy and I feel the engine is going to explode! This seems to be the same also in my old F4I! My RR has similar mods to my old F4I (Power Comm, After market exhaust, bigger rear sprocket etc) I dont know if I am being paranoid but does your bike at the same RPMs as mine? sometimes I hesitant to rev the bike passed 12k.

The engines on these bikes are designed to work reliably all the way up to the redline man ... and the manufacturers program the ECU to stop the engine from revving so high that they damage theirselves ... You're about halfway through the rev range where you're at right now ... just keep care of your bike and the motor maintenance and everything will be just fine ... these machines were made to be screamers ... it's how they run ... they're hyperactive lil machines ...

Considering that you have those mods listed, I assume you know about the Cam chain tensioner yes? Just in case you didn't, I'll be the one to say....it goes bad.

It's described as a "bees in a can", "bb's in a coffee can", etc sound. My bike does it and its annoying. I'm sure the sound gets progressively worse as time goes on (from a light buzzing to a louder buzz) and the longer you let it go the worse you may be at risk for blowing up your engine. That being said, I've had my bike up there as far as rpm's go (15k).

So, did this help? Or do you know about the cam chain tensioner already :icon_doh:

And if that's not it, and you keep your bikes maintained then don't worry. Everyone gets paranoid about their bikes and the sound they make. I did it with my dirtbike, and so did my friend. Its natural. It will make sounds that you have never heard when you take your helmet off too.

^^^ I'm guessing that he is just refering to the buzzy nature of the engines. All 600, and especially our F4i are really, really buzzy troughout the rev range.

OP, don't worry that's just the nature of the beast and that's her way of saying RIDE ME HARDER! MORE,MORE, I NEED MORE

That's what I hear her saying when she talks to me :D
