Removing split seat tail and front seat question...
 

I am in the middle of a split seat conversion on my 06. I trial fitted everyting except the seat (have not come in yet).

Fit is great, but I have 2 question....

1) What is the easiest process in fitting the tail on, it seems very tight and tricky to fit on, I have to bend the plastic a bit to get it on, I am worried once I paint the tail putting it on, it will get scratched, lust wondering if there are any tricks. Seems working each side pulling out a little and down is the best way for me so far.

2) How are you supposed to access the front seat rear bolts? Do you reach in from the rear seat opening? Looks like that is a little tricky, I don't have my seat yet to see. Maybe you push the padding away to reach the bolts? I dunno.

you have to bend the plastic a little to get it on....and yes you fold up the corner of the seat to access the bolts.

When you slide it one i always pull the bottom of it out, the plastic is quite flexible.

Thanks guys, one other question... what size head is on the 2 bolts that hold the back of the front seat on? 8mm or 10mm? I am going to get some stainless hardware at the local hrdware stor, just like the wrench size to be same as factory.

8mm bolts on the seat.

aken says 8 but mine are 10mm so either or i guess....although i did the conversion on my bike so maybe i just got the wrong bolts all i know is tat they fit

mine are i think 10mm bolts its a 02 F4i
