Removing & replacing decal
 

Alright, so like a dumb ass i pull into a friends driveway and at a complet stop just fall over with my "04" that was in mint condition... Luckily the only scratches are on the huge decal on the side. So i figure just replace it and it will look mint again... easy enough, but is it?

I bought my bike with the exhaust side F4i decal scraped and just bought a new one off Replicals.com. Also interested in any tips for removal and replacement. I'm waiting to put it on until i get frame sliders or a cage...

Use a hair drier and patience to get the decal off. Buy a replacement sticker from Replicals. Follow instructions from Replicals for putting it back on.

A heat gun will soften things up so the decal pulls off. Once you get it off you can use mineral spirits or a mild body shop type solvent to clean the part for the new decal instalation.

Putting a new decal on can be a chore. If you are unsure about your skills I would suggest having someone do it for you. Places that do auto wraps can be helpful. Body shops may also be able to help.
If you are going to tackle it yourself make sure and go slow. Lay the decal out and lightly tape the edges in place with masking tape to make sure you get it placed where you want it. Start at one edge and work your way across using a soft squeege (like used for window tinting) to get it on flat. If you work slow and take your time you should be able to get it layed down without getting any air bubbles.

i just took my fairing and the new decal to a body shop. they charged my $60 to put the new one on(i took the old one off). another shop wanted to charge $260. shop around and get it done right. dont wanna mess up the new decal im sure you only have one
