Default Rearset suggestions

I think I'm going to bite the bullet and lay out the cash. I'm soliciting suggestions for rearsets. I'm not into namebrand but value. Must haves:
Quality, something that will provide better crash protection than stock
Adjustability
Rear brake light: still my street bike
GP Shift capability

Heard a lot about the Vortex, but not sure if they offer all of that, plus the price...OUCH.

Anyone??

gilles are the best for your buck.they look pimp as hell.eurpoean stuff is the best.im saving for mine

Vortek and Woodcraft are strong and have replaceable parts... if you find the limits.

Gilles are beautiful. Parts? hmmmm.

Satos are spiffy. Not as easy to find parts for but nice.

Vortex and Woodcraft are both good but neither will give you adjustability (at least not on the F4i)
I use the Woodcraft on my F4i and Vortex on my SV. I think woodcraft makes a switch (vortex might too) to keep the brake light and making a bike GP shift on the F4i isn't really affected by the rearsets themselves so any should be alright
if your using them on the street you might want to check out the Vortex pegs first, damn things will cut your leg off if you knock your shin against it too hard lol. The Woodcraft pegs are much better for street use. Overall I think the Vortex rearsets look better but the Woodcraft for the F4i are more practical.

never used Gilles or Sato they look more like form over function stuff

I'm thinking of going with the rearset adapter plates and the Blackbird/ VFR GP Shift mod. Downside: If I change the pegs to a non-movable track peg then I'm approaching the price point of the Wood-tex rearsets.

I always console myself, when spending large chunks of change, that motorcycles are a way cheaper hobby than golf.

i vote woodcrafts...has all you're looking for except the adjustability part.
using the blackbird/vfr shift lever will allow you to retain sprocket cover and have gp shift...only problem i see is that in a crash, it's directly bolted to the shift spline...not sure i want that much torque against that in a crash. also, if you have plates moving the rearsets back, but the shifter isn't connected to the rearsets...then the shifter stays at the same position, and now your feet is further from the shifter. it's fine if you have large feet, if not could be awkward.
