rear cowl bolts

What the hell are these things.... You know the bolts that hidiously stick out from the rear cowl. any ideas?

you can buy 2 of the other bolts that hold the tail fairing on to replace them, one of the first things i did...

They are called frankenstein bolts they can cost you up to 20 bucks a piece at the dealer .......
