Default Ram Air Cover and random Fairing Question

This isn't incredible important, more of a curiosity thing I may look into replacing later down the road. I was wondering, do the 2006 F4i ram air covers not have the vents in the front of them (because mine dont) i.e.

Also, what is this crap on the upper portion of my left fairing? It feels like a hard plastic which looks like where the fairing is supposed to have the little "peg" sticking out where it clicks into the frame to lock it tight against the bike. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

that cover i believe is attached to the upper cowl which you slide the ram air ducts into. that hole in the upper left should be a rubber push pin in which you slide into the ram air covers.
its kind of a pain because the ram air covers 1, screw into the.. upper cowl i guess,2 slide into a groove in the upper cowl on the left side,3 slide into a open slot in the upper cowl left side again,4 have the side fairing push into a rubber hole,5 get pushed down and lock up into the tank,6 have a push pin into the tank.
just google ram air cover you will see what im talking about.
so yeah that hole is for the ram air cover, you are asking about the ram air snorkels.
