Well... SharkSkinz makes these: http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/...1-SKIN-94.html

They are probably considered fiberglass but they are marketed as some woven epoxy resin material... idk

Any reason you want plastic as an alternative? There are companies that make plastics, like auctmarts, but I don't believe any company would make race "plastics" without doing them in resin/fiberglass.

because i wanna have a non headlight, one piece upper, and a belly pan, ans a race tail.... lol

i have fiberglass ones now but my buddy who is painting them said they are so thin that even with the bondo he is putting on them to try and straighten/ remove some of the flex that he doesnt know if they will last more than 6 months once painted....(i suggest anyone buying race fairings stay away from rockwall)

so i am looking for plastic ones....

or i may just save up and go to opp racing and get CF ones....

vangill 05-10-2010 08:44 AM

i think the rockwall ones in general are really thin

i just say that based on the reviews i saw for their tire hugger that was 9$ lol

the fairings and bondo should be fine as long as the fairings dont have any stress put on them.... lordy im gonna have to be careful lol... or carbon fiber here i come.... lol

The money sucks, but Sharkskinz are definitely worth it. Cheetah Racing (which I think is out of business) made some good stuff too, what my new tail is and couldn't be happier.

The nice thing about high quality fiberglass ones like Sharks, is if you go down and they get a puncture in them, you can just fix them.

im half tempted to take some small aluminum strips and make some cross bracing on the back side of the fairings... idk... guess well see chad (my body guy) is a real good.... so hopefully the bondo will just do its damn job and not pop out lol :icon_shrug:

worse case ill figure out somethin.... :icon_no:
