Default R6 Clip-On Pics

Installed R6 clip-ons on my 01 F4i today. The sitting position is a lot more aggressive now. The hand position is lower and much wider. Imagine a bulldog type stance on the clip-ons. The body now leans forward more onto the top of the forks. The swap was pretty much a direct swap from the stock F4i clip-ons. As far as clearance issues, it is tight when you turn lock-to-lock. The steering lock still works but it rubs on the air duct cover (left), and when performing a u-turn or any turn that uses the entire movement, your thumbs get in the way. But it's not too big of a problem as you can still get away without using the entire motion. It just takes a little more time. However, once you start cornering, this makes a big difference over the stock F4i clip-ons. The bike feels a lot more controllable and stable. It takes less effort to initiate your turn since you have more leverage. Best part is, it looks stock

I've added some .gifs to show the difference. They are not perfect, but you get a good idea of the difference in positioning. And yes, I am missing a right bar-end

Nice job man. Looks great. However, I think I'm going to get a seizure looking at those blinking pics.

since the clip-ons make you lean forward more... try adding a corbin seat. they make you lean forward more too cuz it makes you sit towards the back of the seat instead of ***** up against the gas tank.

your clip-ons + corbin seats = superman position.

Sorry for the blinking pictures...it was the easiest way to show the difference between the two

Looks good, but I have to ask, why the R6 clip-ons?

Because it offers the advantages of aftermarket clip-ons such as Vortex but at a lower cost, and from what I hear, aftermarket ones require more modifications. That and I like the look of the R6 clip-ons better than aftermarket ones. Other than that, there's no point in choosing R6 clip-ons over aftermarket other than cost, IMO.
