Question about changing exhaust on bike i just bought
So i am proud to say i am a new owner of a 2002 CBR. All things considered, i am very happy about my purchase yesterday.
I am nitpicky for sure, but i realize that i really do prefer short exhausts, mostly due to looks but i also want something louder than what the bike came with. It came with a great pipe, a Yoshi carbon. I guess i want to know what option are there for running something really short and hopefully louder. I guess i would just sell the one that came on it, no idea how much its worth, but guess i will figure it out. your infinite wisdom appreciated. Cheers |
Search "Shorty" here and you will find lots of threads on how to make your exhaust a shorty for minimal $$$

Most exhaust can be cut down, if thats your thing. The exhaust end-cap is riveted on.
Drill the rivets out, cut down the can and internals, re-assemble and re-rivet. From what I understand, not having actually done it, you can adjust how much packing you use, to change the sound volume. Be aware, Too big a change can lead to performance issues without re-mapping the injectors. Ern |
thanks to both
