Quest for POWA!!!

I've got an 01 and i'm trying to see what i can do to get some more power from the thing. My friend has a zx10 and in the straights he eats me alive and i'd like to be able to at least hold a little flame to him.

I've got a K&N filter and a two brothers slip on. I know next i need a PCIII but after that what else is there to do?

Do you need more high speed power or faster take off power?

My input would be to get a PCIII, Dyno and/or sprocket change (-1, +2), but I am no expert on the matter. At stock + a slip on exhaust, I can keep up with a ZX14 all the way until like 125MPH, then I'm backing off no matter who's leading.

The advantage is our 6's are lighter, so with good shifting, our bikes can have the advantage up to a certain point.

Cheers!

How much you weight??? Hit the gym, drop some pounds...I've drop 15 lbs and feel a significant difference in power...

My ZX-10's curb weight is 15 pounds heavier than my F4i. And has almost 60 more horsepower.

Making a 600 keep up with a 1k is a lost cause. Do some track days and learn how to turn a lot faster than your friend - then he'll feel a little salty that his "fast" bike can't keep up. :)

Pretty much. Options are either buy a CBR 1000rr or stop riding in straight lines.

the cheapest way to make these bikes as fast as liter bikes is to just get a liter bike. there is no other way to do it without significantly compromising reliability

i have both f4i and zx10r and there is no way you will follow him in straight line. sell your bike , thats the only thing to do .

Perfect take on what I said. My ZX14 buddy smokes me in a straight line, but in curves and turns, I have the advantage.

Want to go faster? Learn to ride better or get a larger engined bike.

Modifying a 600 is pointless unless it is for a 600 race series, you would be better off both financially and performance wise buying a 1000cc bike.

In the twisties he doesn't see me after the first 2 turns.... I just wanted an all around more powerful engine and keep the bike i have. I just bought this bike 2 weeks ago and the guy that had it before me put on a 100 link chain and a 13/52 sprocket combo. I'm thinking about changing it to 15/48 but haven't decided if i like it the way it is now.... I guess i'll add a PCIII and be happy with that, i just didn't know if there were any other engine mods i could do to get some more power. Thanks guys
