Quaker State oil in my bike?
I have recently been sponsored by Quaker State for another one of my hobbies, autocross.
That said, I can now get so much free oil, I'm thinking of using some on the bike too, instead of just the car.
I have heard mixed opinions so far on Quaker State, and would like to hear yours.
My bike requires the following, as per the service manual:
Quaker State has 10W-40 available in Advanced Durability (non-synthetic) only. It doesn't say anything about JASO MA.

If you were in my position, would you use Quaker State oil, or another oil, and would you go with synthetic or regular, and why?
Bike is a 2004 CBR600F4i (stock).

My bike requires the following, as per the service manual:
API Service Classification SG or higher except oils labeled as energy conserving on the circular API service label, SAE 10W-40, JASO T 903 standard MA, Pro Honda GN4 or HP4 (without molybdenum additives) 4-stroke oil (USA & Canada) or Honda 4-stroke oil (Canadao only), or an equivalent motorcycle oil.

As long as it's not labelled Energy Conserving it should work, and the synthetic would be your better bet, though many will warn you of using auto oils in your bike, qouting destruction of friction modifiers by a bikes wetclutch, though if you avoid energy conserving and use synthetic many of those worries are avoided.
On a side note, a 4 qt container or Rotella T Synthetic runs just a hair over 20 bucks and is generally considered one of the best oils for use in your bike. I know free is great, but things like motors, tires and gear aren't things I generally skimp on, especially if it's just a matter of 20 bucks every few thousand miles for what's often qouted as one of the best things to put in your bike.

Adding to the Shell Rotella T Synthetic 5W-40 punchline, Quaker State also makes a full synthetic 5W-40 oil.

This should work just as good.
Hope this helps.
