What is the metal gasket thing that the stock exhaust had on the end of the header/midpidpe that I had to cut off in order to fit my new exhaust on?

I got a used Brothers CF exhaust from a friend, no instructions, missing parts, and originally I had left on that gasket thingy, but the exhaust slipped off a day later on the highway, obviously had to take it off. But it was like lead and mesh and mashed pretty well around the stock pipe, can I just get one from the dealership?

The brother's exhaust is nice, but honestly it's loud as **** and I worry my hearing is going because I ride everyday to and from work 45 minutes each way...

 

Wow that has to be very loud, if it makes you want to take it off. Are you wearing helmet?

 

you can get one of those gaskets from the dealership. You will only need that for the stock exhaust. I think its around 20$ though.

 

It's probably not that loud compared to some, yes I'm wearing a helmet, but rush hour everyday, it's a long term thing I'm worried about.

I saw a couple of places online with the part for 15$ called "exhaust Gasket" so I'd assume that is it.
