well that sucks, not to be insensitive or rude, but just another case of someone wanting to ride, buying the badest bike they can, and dropping it. when will people learn that getting riding experience is not just taking the MSF. i started on my 87 for a reason, i did not want this to happen to me, nevertheless mine has never been down, at any speed that is, or by me atleast.

I took the MSF course this weekend after purchasing the bike friday. Went out riding all day today (sunday) and made it back home in 1 piece. After leaving my friends house and turning off his street, I hit some gravel during the turn and laid her down. It was quite humbling. Broke the right side mirror off, the turn signal, scratched the **** out of the side and front fairing, And bent the brake pedal a bit. It really sucks when your brand new bike isn't so new anymore.
Any suggestions on what to do? Im really bummed...
should i buy new plastics and install frame sliders or leave them scratched for now?
How could this have been avoided?
Why does my **** hurt?
she was beautiful for a couple of hours at least.

Hey **** happens but at least your o.k. Fix the break pedal, get sliders, and replace the mirror. Lots of people start off brand new and don't feel stupid for crashing your brand new bike. Two wheels and gravity it's only a matter of time. I'm not Collin Edwards( although I like to pretend sometimes) and far from a squid but I'll let you in on secret. It happens to the best of us. Been riding a while and got close to 70k mi on the street. I still stall, try to take off while the side stand is down, forget to strap my helmet, still look for seventh gear, and throw my **** down the road. At least once a year. It sucks but **** happens. No stunting just riding aggressivly. There's a time and place for such things and sometimes I get that itch and only gravel can scratch(and the body work). One day when I'm older riding a Wing maybe I'll grow out of it. But........ it's just a big sportbike w/ saddle bags and a trunk so maybe not completly grow out of it. LOL! Lesson learned hopefuly and just be careful. Good luck!

That sucks.. I bought a used CBR600F2 and I had it in my garage.. I dunno what happened but I went out one day to the garage and was horrified to find the bike on its side. Scuffed the crap outta the fairing and mirror. Its a horrible feeling to drop/lay down a bike... but in the end I guess there is two types of bikes: Those that have been dropped... and those that WILL be dropped.
