Don't see any mention of armor in the description. Just "zipper" a lot

I like www.cyclegear.com and www.ridersdiscount.com myself... I got everything pieced together from head to toe for roughly $700 just by shopping around.. I bought my pants on ebay brand new and saved $100 alone.

At the moment all I have is textile but for the riding I'm doing thats all I need. Any track events and leathers are a must from what I've read.

I got some draggin jeans, which are actually okay. I got the optional CE rated hip/knee pads, but I don't like how they hang, they are connected to the inner kevlar lining with velcro so they aren't strapped to your knee so when you're walking around they drop to where your shins are and scratch up your legs a bit. They won't drop in the case of a fall (or so they seem) and they're pretty comfy when riding. There are plenty of people who wear them without any of the optional pads and from what I hear, most of the crash damage in a fall is in your hands/upper body and the pants are mostly road rash protection.

They've also go these kevlar long-john things that you can wear under whatever else you got in your closet.

Ya I saw some of the other jackets avail. I'd recommend you get one of them. I didn't break anything when I came off. The armor in my jacket took the street pretty well. My hip and knee took the street pretty poorly.

Hurt like hell and made me appreciate armor more.

I have some http://www.newenough.com/protective_... Textile Pants that I use for all my daily non-leather-pants riding. You can wear them by themselves or with other pants underneath. They also come in a mesh version if you want some serious breathing. I've enjoyed having them.

I just picked up the First Gear 'Teton' jacket - full armor, rainproof with an insert jacket that is nice on it's own, I've ridden in 25 deg. with a long sleeve t-shirt under it and stayed just fine, reg. retail was like $400+

I got the 09 model on closeout for $149 - I'll have this thing for years

^I like that jacket.

I have this one in black. It works great however isn't very flexible. I can walk comfortably in it, don't get me wrong, but god forbid if I had to jog.

I'm also thinking about those boots, but shin sliders? what for?
