problem with rpms

i just put a new exhaust on my bike a couple weeks ago and started to notice that my rpms were jumping around, especially under 5 grand. if i went to 4 grand and held it steady it would jump around from like 4.5 down to 3.5. i know that getting a new exhaust can mess with air/fuel mixture and what not if you dont get it tuned. so i put the stock exhaust back on untill i can get it tuned and its still doing it. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are your plug wires on good? Any contact with anything? Have you messed with anything else? I'm not sure what you could have hit or messed up putting that pipe on, but if it wasn't doing it before, did you pinch any air lines?thats nuts bro!

When I put on my can, I had to also put on an O2 sensor eliminator. Would it have anything to do with that? Seems fishy that you could put the stocker back onand still have the same problem, though. Keep us posted.

RE: problem with rpms

ok. i dont think it has anything to do with the can. im getting the idea that maybe was just a coincidence that it started happening when i put the new exhaust on. today it was sputering really bad and not just in the low rpms anymore. and it actually died on me once and the fi light came on. so im thinking something with fuel delivery. anyonw have any ideas on what it might be?
