im looking to buy an 02 F4i from a friend of a friend. its hasnt been laid over but it did fall over in the bed of his truck while transporting it. i dont think anything is broken but there are a few scratches on the left side of the bike. im just curious as to how much would you offer for this bike. im not aware of the current mileage but i will be talking to him later today and hopefully geting some pictures.

depends on mileage, mods, etc.

but regardless of what blue book says...know that an 02 is pretty old skool based on preferences and therefore, you can't push it as fast. hence...price can be lower than bb...which is usually higher anyway.

 

it has about 15,000 miles on it, with a slip on exhaust (not sure which one), and fender eliminator. thats about it he said he wanted around $4000 for it. i have yet to see the bike in person or pictures but from what i hear the only bad thing out it is that it has been dropped on the left side. so for around $4000 should i jump on this deal or wait for something better to come along?

 

i bought my 02 f4i back in sept for $4300 with 8700miles on it all stock.............i shopped around on ebay and local trader mags for about 3 months and it was a good deal for me, take that for what its worth................

 

I just bought mine $4000. Ebay they are all around $5500

 

I just bought my 02 off ebay and gave $5000 for it. It only had 4k miles on it and never dropped. This bike looks brand new.

 

$4,000 for the bike is a good price ESPECIALLY at this time of year when the bikes are in demand and you can get top dollar for them (in spring/summer) when people want them

I'd say go for it if the damage isn't too bad on the bike & the rest of the bike is clean/in good condition!

Or replace the fairing and sell it for a profit.

 

i bought my 02 for 4k. i wouldnt pay anymore than 4500 for an 02....and that would have to be with some mods

 

It all depends when you buy it & how bad the seller needs to sell it....there are TONS of factors.

So if you bought your '02 for $4,000 last fall or winter (just saying) of course you're gonna think the price/value of the bike is low.

My buddy sold his 1999 F4 that was dropped for $4,000 recently

And an 2001+ F4i will easily get around $5,000 on ebay right now


So $4,000 for a 2002 is a frickin' steal (if the bike is clean of course)........because people are asking $5000-5500 for a 2002

 

I paid 5500 for my '02 f4i with 100 miles bone stock with two shoei helmets. I felt ok about that.
